Ignition coils are needed to boost the power from your Audi A6 battery to the spark plugs and create the electrical spark which in turn ignites the fuel. They are a common wearing part in all engines. In cars that have separate pencil coils it is always the temptation to replace just the one that is faulty. Unfortunately given the same work load, the others are never far behind.
